Landscape beyond to landscape within. Broad sweeping landscapes of the Derbyshire Peak District, Scottish mountains or the flat East Anglian coastline to the cultivated order of an English garden and the details within it. Through these pictures I try to find form, texture and contrast between the elements of the largest or smallest composition.
Our focus is largely on the landscapes and gardens in the Midlands of the UK, many of which we have visited many times in different light and weather to explore and witness their changes. Other areas are included as our travels allow.
We have a rapidly growing stock image library where images may be licensed, downloaded and fine-art prints ordered. Links to galleries and images related to any particular article are indicated by a small film strip icon within the article. Just click on the icon to be taken to the appropriate gallery or image.
We hope you enjoy as we develop and grow this site to become a significant resource.
We have tried to make this website work on all browsers and devices and have made significant amendments and changes to code to ensure things work consistently and as expected. However, things do not work completely some non-standards compliant browsers and as a consequence those using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or older will possibly not be reading this! Users of later versions of Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, etc should be able to access things without problems.
We have optimised the layout of this site for screens with a width of 1024 pixels or greater. If yours is less than this, I apologise and you will need to scroll around to see things - which you will probably get fed up with quite quickly.
All photographs on this site are colour balanced and optimised for viewing on the Macs we use. Our screens are all calibrated and the pictures look great. We have tested the site on a variety of other systems (including Windows, Linux and different browsers) but other systems do not always manage colours as accurately unless calibrated. In consequence some pictures may look a little dark. All photographic prints supplied are produced from the calibrated system so will look just they were intended. Digital downloads are also from calibrated systems.
